Colleen and Tom were married in Portland, Maine on December 9th, 2017. While the wedding party sipped champagne and prepped for the day at the Press Hotel, the first snow of the season began, and continued throughout the entirety of the day. Vintage fur coats, sweet pops of greenery, rich navy blues and creamy whites created a festive, dreamy atmosphere. I'm not sure if it was the impeccable styling, the snow globe effect of watching the snow fall through the reception venue's floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Portland Harbor, or the genuine joy the bride, groom, and guests shared, but this was one of the most special weddings I've ever photographed. Enjoy a peek before I deliver the full gallery this week!Read More
At my last wedding of the year, a guest pulled me aside and asked "you know you have the happiest job in the world, don't you?" I didn't think much of it in the moment, but as I wrapped up my final emails of the year, opened holiday cards from past clients throughout the season, and reviewed the year in photos, I have to agree. I think I just might have the happiest job in the world.
This year was by leagues, my busiest season yet. I photographed almost double the amount of weddings I did last year, my first birth, four weddings with dogs as flower girls (score!), a three day long women's fashion shoot, lots of family sessions with returning clients, and my first elopement. My husband and I bought our first house at the peak of my season -YIKES- and still survived. I started regularly working with Hilary Campbell, an honor that I'm thrilled to continue even more consistently in 2018.
2018 is panning out to look equally as bright with multiple months already booked to capacity, a trip to NOLA to attend The Family Narrative, and my first time being published in print already scheduled! I feel so fortunate to have such a direct line of vision into pure beauty and joy through my photography business, when I know most jobs leave people feel drained and uninspired. Thank you to all for giving me the happiest job in the world, and a very happy New Year to you! 2018- I'm ready for you.
Christina and Jeremy are married! The couple invited over 200 of their favorite people to gather on the first of December for a candlelit ceremony and a festive ballroom reception following in downtown Portland. Photographing a wedding in December was pure magic, with all it's greenery and sparkling lights. Thank you for inviting me into your day, Christina and Jeremy!Read More
Less than a week before a series of winter weddings kick off, I'm finishing edits on the happiest Bar Harbor wedding. From the few occasions I've gotten to enjoy time with Libbi and Lowell, I know three things about them: they love their cat, music, and to make each other laugh a whole lot. I wasn't at all surprised their wedding day full of these three elements of them, and I've been smiling my way through edits. Libbi + Lowell, I can't WAIT to share your gallery with you! Enjoy a sneak peek first.Read More
Marianna and Benjamin were married on September 30th, alongside the Kennebec River with a gang of nieces and nephews, siblings, parents, grandparents, and lifelong friends. Neither the bride nor the groom come from small families, and this wedding was one of the sweetest integrations of family I've witnessed. Congratulations, Marianna and Benjamin thank you for inviting me to be a part of your day!Read More
What better place to elope with your love than next to a waterfall nestled deep in Maine's Acadia National State Park? This September, Rachel and Dave packed their suitcases and beloved rescue dog Pippi into their car, drove away from the bustle of Chicago, and straight to Bar Harbor, Maine for their elopement. The couple exchanged vows witnessed only by their wedding photographer, my favorite photography pal Hilary Campbell who served as the second witness and Pippi-handler, and their officiant. After a sweet ceremony, the couple explored the park together and finished their day with champagne on a foggy beach. There's nothing quite like an intimate wedding day, free of distractions and surrounded by nature. Thanks for inviting me along to your beautiful elopement, Rachel and Dave!Read More
What do you get when a two of the kindest souls in the world tie the knot, and their team of friends from the Portland artistic community use their respective talents to style the wedding? A fall dream, on the shores of the Kennebec River, with food, styling, and flowers that are sure to make you swoon. Tanja and Greg were married at 1774 Inn, overlooking the Kennebec River in Phippsburg, Maine early this October. The ceremony was on the hill of the property, with the river rolling behind the couple. The cocktail hour spanned the lawn in front of the inn's Georgian mansion, and the reception was hosted in in the barn with a family-style dinner, and dancing to follow. Every aspect of this wedding was styled to perfection, from the rustic alter, to the drinks served from the back of a vintage Ford, to the freshly arranged flowers sitting in handmade pottery from Campfire Studios on each table, and candles filling the space with a warm glow. Local musicians provided a unique soundtrack, food from Harvest Moon Catering was roasted and marinated throughout the entire day, and desserts ranged from specialty donuts provided by Sugar Fix Donuts, to pies made by the mother-of-the-groom. From start to finish, this day was an autumnal, New England dream. All my love and warm wishes, Tanja + Greg!Read More
I loved this wedding, and it's not even just because the bride and groom included their English Bulldog Pippa in the wedding day festivities. Amanda and Johnny were married on September 23rd, on an unusually warm fall day at The Episcopal Church of Saint Mary in Falmouth, with a reception at The Woodlands Club. Before the wedding, the bride and groom met at Kettle Cove for their first look, and a few moments alone together. From the gorgeous flowers provided by East of Eden Flower Farm, to the East End Cupcakes to fuel a night of dancing, this wedding was everything I love about a local wedding. Congratulations, Johnny and Amanda, I'm so happy to share your wedding gallery with you this week!Read More
Any wedding that involves a flower farm, dogs, and tacos is the kind of wedding I want to attend. Add in a genuine, kind, and loving couple, and you've found my dream wedding to photograph. Sofija and Alex, amongst college friends, childhood friends, brewery friends, family from every corner of the world, their beloved dog, and a tiny army of the cutest children, were married on September 9th. The day started with Rose Food bagels during hair and makeup in a tiny cabin, and ended with dancing and a bonfire- in short, the perfect day. Congratulations Sofija + Alex!Read More
Maria and Jake were married on September 2nd, surrounded by the second largest wedding party I've ever photographed, and dozens of other loved ones. Maria got ready in her childhood home with her bridesmaids, the trolley carted the wedding party through Portland, and the dancing was unstoppable. Congratulations, Maria + Jake, I'm so excited to deliver your photos to you this week!Read More
Maybe it's the camp girl in me, or maybe it's because I clicked with Elianna and Zach from the very start, but this will always be a particularly special wedding to me. If I started sharing everything beautiful and heartfelt about this wedding, we'd be here all night. Instead, I've made a list of my top ten favorite parts.Read More
