A Design-Forward Eastman Hill Farm Wedding in Lovell, Maine: Abby + Alex.

I've long admired the work of Abigail Shea (Maine-based, boutique interior designer and founder of Studio Eastman), so photographing her self- designed western Maine wedding to her high-school sweetheart Alex was an absolute joy for me. Not only was this wedding a visual feast, but the depth of the care, love, and history between Abby and Alex was a tangible presence throughout every step of the day.

Even though it rained and weather altered nearly every plan, Abby and Alex embraced the unexpected with peace and joy. The rain fell, the roses were bursting with color, and the atmosphere was warm and love-filled.

Abby’s outfit changes were a highlight, as each new setting welcomed a new look. The first dress, an elegant green silk dress for the welcome hour, where guests sought shelter from the rain in the barn and cozied up on sheepskin-covered benches with glasses of champagne. For the ceremony and dinner, she wore a stunning low-backed white silk dress. Finally, she changed into a short, sequined dress with feather trim detailing and white, ribbon-laced Converse sneakers for dancing the night away.

Before the ceremony, Abby and Alex shared a private exchange of vows, adding an intimate touch to their special day.

The original plan for an outdoor dinner was quickly changed to a warm, candle-lit dinner inside, and was executed flawlessly by wedding coordinator Kelsey of Bloom and Grow Events.

The party that followed dinner was unmatched. Not only did every single guest dance to the incredible music provided by Mixology, but there were also casino tables that added an extra layer of fun to the night!
